History of Tobacco Cards

Cigarette cards were introduced in England around 1875 to encourage tobacco sales and brand loyalty and, interestingly, to provide some physical support for the cigarette pack itself.  Tobacco companies issued sets of cards with specific themes in areas as diverse as sports, arts and entertainment, flora and fauna, naval and military, and transport.  We have imported a number of sport theme card sets which we have custom matted and framed to create beautiful and unique gift items.  The collection's title is identified by an engraved brass plate centered below the cards.  We will custom engrave this plate with customer-specific information for an additional fee.  These cards are so interesting that we have ventured beyond golf to include tennis and baseball collections.  All of the cards are imported from England.
